What Customers Say About SeaLife SL321 ECOshot 6MP Digital Camera:

Great starter camera. If this is difficult for you, or you're afraid you'll miss the action, try using the "Spy Mode" which automatically takes shots at given intervals of time. I had another user tell me the same thing. Some reviewers have complained about picture quality. We got some great video of dolphins and turtles swimming. A couple of notes one that. Truly waterproof--I've taken it down 10-12 meters, although it can go to 25. Also, I got better pictures when the camera was in macro mode (the default setting is landscape mode).

1) obviously this is a simple point and shoot camera.it's not going to produce the quality of photographs that more sophisticated models will 2) the quality of the picture is correlated to a significant degree to the environment (e.g., murkiness of the water) and the skill of the photographer. Your pictures will turn out best if you are able to steady the camera, which involves steadying yourself and the camera underwater. For the most part, some good photo editing software can help you clean up your pictures (try Shutterfly Studio.it's free). The camera takes great video with sound. This is not a camera for an advanced photographer, but if you're a casual photographer and need something for diving, snorkeling, bumming around on the beach, kayaking, etc., then this is a good choice.

I could see the screen and adjust settings underwater quite easily. Not a big deal, but need to account for that when taking pictures.

Pictures were clear, crisp and very good quality. The camera worked great for snorkeling and hanging out around beach on recent trip.

One, the shutter response is a bit slow. Granted, lighting conditions were perfect.

Clear skies and water.Only have two complaints. Secondly, there is an underwater mode, but if the water wasn't VERY blue, the picture came out with a reddish hue.Overall, very, very happy with this camera.

Also, with the heft of the camera (it is a little heavy), I was quite confident with the protection offered.

I bought my SeaLife for a once in a lifetime trip to swim with whales. I couple things I have learned are to avoid using the digital zoom, and make sure to rinse the camera after heavy use in the water - especially the ocean. This camera was the only thing I used to capture the moments above and below the water and it did not let me down. It can use up a lot of batteries when it is on for extended period of time, and a couple of the buttons have become a little sticky over time (9 months), but the camera is priced right for the non-professional underwater adventurer. Plus, on several occasions I have found my pictures to be over-exposed. Still, even with these minor occurances, I continue to use it, even when I'm not near water.

How can I believe the machine is water resistant.4. I bought this production for my Florida travel. There is a very series scratch on the surface. The moisture proof stuff (small package in battery cell) has been changed to pink when I firstly open the package. I think Sealife should improve their lens and optical parts instead of the advertisement. What I bought is a brand new one, not a refurbished.2.

Even worse than a normal digital camera with a waterproof case. But there were too much problems with this machine, and fortunately Amazon accepted my return.1. The picture quality is really make me disappointed. The battery cover is very very loose, any small touch will course it open. It means that when I tight the out sealing switch, the battery cover mush be open.3. Do not trust the 5M CCD stunt.

Finally, I appreciate the Amazon perfect custom service and warn you to think again before you buy the SL321.

Start up time is slow, and when batteries are low it just goes blank when you press the shutter button. I received and powered up to see a stuck pixel in the middle of the screen. I purchased this camera for a 7 day cruise in the Caymans, Cosumen, Belize, and Roatan. I would strongly advise that you seek another camera for underwater use. Later when using in the Caymans, I discovered that the camara "eats" AA batteries. Went through 3 Sets of Batteries in one day. This one is not a camera that you would want to use. Missed many never to be captured again moments.
